The Operation Badger Base event closed on Sunday, August 14. We appreciate you attending our event honoring veterans from all wars.
The following pages will provide you with a snapshot of the personal experiences for Wisconsin veterans during the Vietnam War. Most tours in Vietnam were about 12 months and a family bond existed for those stationed as a unit. Each veteran can vividly remember the sights, smells, feel, and flavor of their time in the war. We have asked them to share some of their experiences on this 50th anniversary of the war. They are proud of their service to our country but, in most cases, have never shared their thoughts, memories, or nightmares of what they endured.
This event will honor the 58,178 killed in action during the Vietnam War. Of this total, 1,161 were residents of Wisconsin. On this 50th anniversary of the war, we will remember the ultimate sacrifice that these soldiers gave for us and our country.
Each of the Wisconsin servicemen that lost their life in Vietnam are linked to below. Say a prayer for these men and thank them for their service.
